The Bago City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) was recently named “Best DRRMC” in the component city category for the Western Visayas at this year’s Gawad Kalasag, the country’s premier annual awards for outstanding contributions in the fields of disaster risk reduction and management and humanitarian assistance.
The award is the city’s seventh consecutive win.
The city was also awarded “Best Local Government Emergency Management and Response Team Services,” a special award recognizing efforts in emergency response; along with “Best DRRM Advocate.”
Additionally, Pauline Anne Lamela of the Bago Disaster Resilience Youth Volunteer Group was acknowledged for her campaign as a DRRM youth leader./WDJ
