Data derived from crowd-sourced database

According to Numbeo, a crowd-sourced database, Iloilo City ranked among the Top 10 safest localities in Southeast Asia. Other Philippine cities among the top ranks included Davao City and Cebu City.
Mayor Jerry P. Treñas pointed out the data used in the survey are based on a global audience.
“Being included in the global poll would mean promotions in terms of tourism and investments,” he explained. “It could be used as a baseline data in selling the potential of the locality.”
Numbeo, which is based in Serbia, is described as “a collection of web pages containing numerical and other itemizable data about cities and countries.” Data from the site also looks at topics such as cost of living, housing indicators, healthcare, traffic, crime, and pollution./WDJ
