Sixth national team coach since March 2018

Goran Milojević was officially announced as the new head coach for the Philippine national football team, the Azkals. The former midfielder for the Yugoslavian national football team has experience as a player with various clubs such as Serbian club Red Star Belgrade, Club América in Mexico’s Liga MX, along with La Liga clubs Celta de Vigo and Villareal; along with coaching various clubs across Eastern Europe.
The new head coach will make his debut with the national team in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification round when they face Syria on Thursday, September 5, at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.
Prior to joining the Azkals, Milojević managed Montenegrin club FK Mornar.
Since Thomas Dooley stepped down as national team head coach in March 2018, the team has seen a number of managerial changes with the Serbian manager becoming the Azkals’ sixth coach in two years.
The most recent head coach, Scott Cooper, was reclassified as assistant team manager due to his lack of an appropriate license for a FIFA World Cup qualifier./ASC, WDJ
