The Negros Occidental chapter of Federation of Free Farmers (FFF), a nationwide non-governmental organization for rural workers, recently inducted 20 new members from Bago City’s Barangay Taloc, along with Barangays Cabug and Pahanocoy in Bacolod City.
The new members underwent a two-day orientation led by Chapter President Mike S. Baylon.
According to the organization, they currently have branches in 50 provinces and boast a membership of around 200,000.
“[FFF] has unceasingly pushed for an agrarian reform and rural development program that would give land ownership to actual tillers and provide them decent living from the fruits of their labor,” they said on their website. “FFF has also worked for the meaningful participation of rural workers through their mass organizations in government decision-making and implementation.”
In the local area, aside from Negros Occidental, FFF also has chapters in Aklan, Iloilo, and Negros Oriental./WDJ
