Tay Tung takes bronze

in boys’ basketball

Bacolod Tay Tung High School won bronze following their 76-66 win over Mandaue at the 2019 Batang Pinoy national finals, which came to a close over the weekend in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
Thomas Pillado top-scored for Tay Tung with 24 points, Nathan Jundana added 16 markers, and Heinz Gabriel Demisana earned a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Tay Tung dominated from the start and, by the fourth period, led by as much as 13 points.
The Bacolod City-based squad was eliminated from gold medal contention after losing 79-66 to Dasmariñas (Cavite).
Meanwhile, the St. John’s Institute girls’ volleyball team finished in fourth place after losing to Davao del Norte in the bronze medal match./ASC, WDJ
