The PetroGazz Angels recently pulled off a 25-15, 25-15, 25-19 sweep over the PacificTown-Army Lady Troopers in the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the San Juan Arena.
Jeanette Panaga top-scored for PetroGazz with 13 points, including three service aces and two blocks; while Jovielyn Prado added 12 markers and eight excellent receptions; Djanel Cheng tossed in 12 excellent sets; and Cienne Cruz manned the floor with 15 excellent digs and 13 excellent receptions.
After easily winning the first two sets, PetroGazz encountered trouble in the third after the score was tied 18-18; however, the eventual winners pulled ahead following three straight errors from PacificTown-Army. Back-to-back blocks from Panaga and Jonah Sabete and a contribution from Prado put them at match point. Sabete then foiled Nerissa Bautista of PacificTown-Army to close the match./ASC, WDJ
