Negros Occidental was not included among the pilot areas for National ID system registration, which is scheduled to begin next month.
Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia said pilot testing is scheduled to take place from September 2 until December with around 10,000 targeted for registration.
Philippine Statistics Authority-Negros Occidental head Luis Gonzales, meanwhile, said they have not received any equipment for registration, although a division had previously been formed for the purpose of issuing the National IDs.
The National ID was created from the Philippine Identification System Act.
The ID will contain the full details of a person such as name, sex, date of birth, place of birth, blood type, address, marital status, and other contact details such as photograph, fingerprints, and iris scan./DGB, WDJ
