The injunction hearing on the special Vallacar Transit Inc. board meeting, which was scheduled to be held before the Bacolod City Regional Trial Court-Branch 53 today, was cancelled due to an event. The procedure was intended to determine if the special board meeting, where Leo Rey Yanson was returned to the post of company president, was legal.
Yanson’s legal counsel, Atty. Norman Golez, also indicated his opposition to the Petition for Inhibition brought forth by the ‘Yanson 4’—Roy, Emily, Ricardo, Jr., and Celina—against Acting Presiding Judge Eduardo Sayson, claiming it is a case of forum shopping.
“There’s no grounds for [the] inhibition of Judge Sayson and the filing is a way to shop a friendlier judge,” he explained. “They are trying to shop for a friendlier judge.”
The lawyer noted, the group previously failed to secure a favorable ruling regarding an earlier appeal for a temporary restraining order against the said meeting.
Meanwhile, Golez noted the employees’ union has withdrawn their demands.
“We told them we will pay them but they should give us time as the employees’ 201 files have been missing after LRY (Leo Rey Yanson) fully recovered the main office and the 15 branches,” he said./DGB, WDJ
