UST, AdMU remain undefeated in the Collegiate Conference

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) and Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) both remained undefeated following their recent wins in the ongoing 2019 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference. UST pulled off a 21-25, 25-22, 25-19, 24-26, 15-12 victory over De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde; while AdMU scored a 25-17, 25-17, 25-8 sweep over San Sebastian College-Recoletos (SSC-R).
Rookie middle blocker Imee Hernandez top-scored for UST with 20 points; while Rachel Roldan earned a triple-double with 17 points, 11 excellent digs, and 10 excellent receptions; Kecelyn Galdones chipped 15 markers; and Ennajie Laure added 13 points, along with 11 excellent digs.
“Maganda yung palitan ng laro (The exchanges in the match were great),” said UST head coach Emilio Reyes. “Nakikita mo na yung full potential ng team kahit na composed of rookies and sophomores (You could see the team’s full potential despite being composed of rookies and sophomores).”
In the other match, Faith Nisperos tallied 15 points on 11 attacks, along with four service aces for AdMU; while Pauline Gaston added 10 markers.
“Everything is a learning process,” explained AdMU coach Oliver Almadro. “You just have to keep on learning and learning.”/ASC, WDJ
