Former deputy commander for the Philippine Army 302nd Infantry Brigade (302IB), Colonel Noel Baluyan, was formally appointed commander for the Tanjay City-based unit, replacing Brigadier General Ignacio Madriaga, who was formally relieved of duty last Tuesday.
Madriaga has since been reassigned to Armed Forces of the Philippine general headquarters at Camp Aguinaldo in Manila.
The event was also attended by Philippine Army 3rd Infantry Division commander, Major General Dinoh Dolina, who congratulated Madriaga and challenged Baluyan to “continue and maintain the operational tempo.”
Last month, the local army units were reorganized with Dolina noting, the 303rd Infantry Brigade would now cover Negros Occidental’s first to fifth provincial districts, while 302IB oversaw Negros Occidental’s sixth district and Negros Oriental’s second and third districts./DGB, WDJ
