The Negros Oriental Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) hauled an estimated P2 million worth of shabu late Monday night following a buy-bust operation in Dumaguete City’s Barangay Cadawinonan.
Police identified the arrested suspect as 25-year-old Jerick Calugcugan, a high-value drug target and resident of the said area.
Based on information provided by PDEA, the operation was conducted jointly by their agents and anti-drug operatives from the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office.
Law enforcement moved in on Calugcugan after he allegedly sold one sachet of suspected shabu to undercover agents. Authorities then seized a total 300 grams of shabu from the suspect’s home, along with drug paraphernalia and a mobile phone.
Upon questioning, Calugcugan denied allegations claiming he is a drug dealer but admitted to using shabu.
The suspect faces illegal drugs charges and is detained at the Dumaguete City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
