A Norwegian-national was arrested last Sunday after he allegedly struck another foreign national with a beer bottle inside a bar in Bacolod City’s Barangay Villamonte.
Police identified the arrested suspect as 50-year-old Harold Harrison Green, a resident of Helvetia Heights in the said barangay.
Based on investigations by Police Station 4 (PS4), the victim, identified as 33-year-old Eli Zimmerman, was having a drink when he saw Green allegedly harass a woman, identified as 21-year-old Josephine Bayot.
Zimmerman approached Green to stop him; however, the suspect allegedly responded by shouting several expletives and a brawl ensued. Zimmerman was left wounded after the suspect struck him with a beer bottle.
Police arrived to break up the fight and arrested Green on the spot, while Zimmerman was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Aside from possible assault charges, Green could face additional raps after bar owner Joji Remedios also filed a complaint to police as the suspect reportedly failed to pay for the drinks he purchased, along with breaking several glasses and ashtrays inside the establishment./DGB, WDJ
