Vallacar Transit Incorporated (VTI) President Leo Rey Yanson, who was earlier returned to the post following a Board of Directors reorganization, said he welcomes the suggestion by his elder brother, Roy Yanson, for reconciliatory talks between their family.
In a statement, the company chief said family reconciliation is possible if supported by honesty and action. He added, reconciliation without action is temporary.
“I, for one, would seek an apology as a preamble of a true and honest reconciliation,” Yanson stated. “We need a lasting peace and unity to sustain the success of our corporate organization.”
Meanwhile, in a letter addressed by the elder Yanson to the company president last August 22, he said, “A company can be brought back from ruin but a broken family is not as easily restored.”
“In many cases bitterness and enmity go beyond healing.” he added.
The elder Yanson noted, he hopes the current troubles will be resolved, pointing out, what has been happening for the past several weeks would have been dreaded by their late father.
He also renewed calls to resolve their differences with mutual respect and civility.
“Clearly, we should not allow emotions to get the better of us; let reason set the order of the day,” the elder Yanson added. “The best way for us to do that is to humbly defer to our father’s wishes and bow to his noble intent.”/DGB, WDJ
