The Cignal HD Spikers advanced to the Philippine SuperLiga All-Filipino Conference finals following their 30-28, 25-21, 17-25, 23-25, 15-8 win over the Petron Blaze Spikers last Thursday at the San Juan Arena.
Rachel Anne Daquis finished with a double-double for Cignal on 22 points and 12 excellent receptions; while Jovelyn Gonzaga of Guimaras chipped in 17 points and 12 digs.
After winning the first two sets, Cignal failed to close out the match in the third and fourth, and forced a deciding final set.
Cignal regained its form in the fifth set on an 11-4 start behind Gonzaga and Daquis. However, Petron rallied and narrowed the gap to six points but hits from Ranya Musa, Roselyn Doria, and Alohi Robins-Hardy closed the match
