Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said the provincial government is open to the idea of privatizing Mambukal Mountain Resort in Murcia.
“I won’t say no,” he said when asked about the subject. “I have that option open.”
The governor said his administration is looking to increase income from the provincial government-run resort under the Economic Enterprise and Development Department.
Meanwhile, in terms of the Mambukal Convention Hotel, Lacson said they are awaiting an opinion from the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers after a portion of the hotel earlier collapsed after it was reportedly struck by a tree branch.
The governor said they want to ensure the hotel is safe./DGB, WDJ
