A newly-identified drug personality was arrested after yielding almost P538,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation yesterday morning in Bacolod City’s Barangay Sum-ag.
Police identified the arrested suspect as 23-year-old Daud Barani, a native of Iligan City, Lanao del Norte.
Police Station 3 (PS3) commander, Police Major Ruel Culanag, said Barani is considered a “newly-identified drug suspect” as his name was not present on the police’s drug watchlist.
He added, the suspect is also a new resident of the city and his drug operations are only two months old.
Culanag said Barani uses a DVD business as a front for his illicit activity.
Police monitoring showed almost all of his transactions are large with supplies originating from Barangay 26.
Police recovered three elongated and eight big sachets of suspected shabu, the P1,000 in marked money, and suspected drug proceeds amounting to P500.
Barani faces illegal drugs charges and is detained at PS3./DGB, WDJ
