The Negros Occidental Provincial Board authorized Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson to accept the donation of the Negros First animal hub. The resolution granting authority was approved unanimously during their regular session last Tuesday.
Earlier, Lacson said the facility, located inside the Panaad Park and Stadium, had been formally turned over to the provincial government by its contractor, Eva Resoor.
The facility became controversial after I Watch Negros Occidental Inc. found the construction project had not gone through a bidding process.
Last October, Resoor was suspended by the provincial government from participating in any provincial government projects for six months to one year after she was unable to indicate who gave permission to construct the animal hub.
The facility includes animal pens with rails, a drainage system, auctioneer’s bleachers, and an administration building./DGB, WDJ
