Executive Assistant Ernie Pineda, who heads the Market Coordinating and Monitoring Task Force, said a 45-day traffic experiment for eastbound public utility jeepneys (PUJs) will begin on Monday at Bacolod City’s Burgos Public Market.
He explained, PUJ parking for Burgos Market-Granada, Burgos Market-Alangilan, and Burgos Market-San Dionisio vehicles will be along Daniel Ramos Street.
“The purpose is to decongest the Hilado Street,” Pineda said.
He pointed out, the experiment was agreed upon during an earlier meeting with PUJ drivers and operations.
The city official said the plan came about after noticing PUJs ran into difficulties exiting parking areas due to diagonally-parked vehicles in the area./DGB, WDJ
