Bacolod City native Kib Montalbo scored the game winner for Makati Super Crunch in their 96-94 win over the Pampanga Giant Lanterns earlier this week in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Cup in the JCSGO Gym in Quezon City.
With the teams knotted at 94-all, Montalbo knocked down a buzzer-beating jumper.
During a post-match interview, the former De La Salle University point guard said he considers it the “biggest shot” of his career.
“It’s the biggest shot of my career and first game winner of my life,” he said to Fox Sports Philippines. “I’ve worked hard for the past few weeks [and] my mindset was to work hard.”
“I [am] just trying to keep on improving—that’s the goal,” he added. “Makati’s goal is to win the championship.”/ASC, WDJ
