Negrense named MVP in NBA/FIBA event

Silay City native Harold Alarcon was named ‘Most Valuable Player’ during the recent 2019 Basketball without Borders-Asia (BWB-Asia) All-Star Game in Tokyo, Japan. BWB is a global basketball development and community outreach program organized by the NBA and FIBA.
“It was a great opportunity for me to participate in BWB-Asia,” said Alarcon. “The experience I gained here will surely be helpful to my basketball career.”
Alarcon, who was joined by fellow Pinoy player Joshua Rafael Lazaro, played for the East All-Star team in their 42-37 win over the West All-Star team.
Other Filipino players invited to participate in the BWB-Asia event included Florence Jil Talas, Kristine Cayabyab, and Joachim Eddie Laure./ASC, WDJ
