Following yesterday’s special Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI) board meeting, where the company’s Board of Directors was reorganized and Leo Rey Yanson was returned to the post of company president, Roy Yanson, who was earlier elected company president by the previous board, held a press conference calling for unity.
He said, as the eldest sibling, he called for his family to “meet and sit down as one.”
“Let us set our differences behind us and talk,” Yanson stated. “Let us forgive each other.”
He went on to discuss how, regardless of whichever side wins in court, they are still family.
Yanson also anticipated criticism from those claiming he is only making such a statement after losing possession of company facilities, noting, “I want peace and I know we all want peace.”
“I choose not to prolong the public staging of our family feud and to leave these issues unresolved,” he added. “I pray that we will surpass this challenge within our family.”
In a separate statement put out on behalf of the ‘Yanson 4’—Roy, Ricardo, Jr., and Emily Yanson, along with Celina Yanson-Lopez—they affirmed their ownership of 62 percent of the company. The group cited a shareholders’ agreement from October 2013 that included the signatures of Leo Rey Yanson, their mother Olivia Yanson, and sister Ginnette Yanson-Dumancas./WDJ
