San Beda University continued their undefeated start in the ongoing 95th NCAA men’s basketball season, earning a 6-0 record after their 102-56 obliteration of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA-Atlas (UPHSD Altas) yesterday at the San Juan Arena.
Donald Tankoua and Amiel Cris Soberano each tallied 15 points for San Beda, while Evan Nelle and Ilonggo small forward Clint Doliguez each landed 12.
“It’s all my boys, they really prepared well for this game,” said San Beda head coach Boyet Fernandez.
San Beda took an early 30-17 lead after the first 10 minutes, which later extended to 47-27 by halftime.
In the third quarter, San Beda went on another run with Ain Obenza and Soberano draining outside baskets. Their lead eventually stretched to its widest at 102-50 late in the final period.
“We will win ball games because of our defense, not our offense,” Fernandez added. “Our offense will just come in once we make stops.”
Meanwhile, Ilonggo point guard Edgar Charcos, alongside Ton Peralta, top-scored for for UPHSD Altas with 13 points each./ASC, WDJ
