Following their 5-0 win over Stallion Laguna FC in the 2019 Philippines Football League (PFL) last Wednesday, Ceres-Negros FC is back on the pitch this weekend. The Bacolod City-based club is scheduled to meet Philippine Air Force FC on Saturday, August 17, at the Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa City, Batangas. Kickoff is at 4:00 p.m.
Air Force is also coming off a win after a late goal from Bacolodnon player Dar Poderoso sealed their 1-0 victory over Mendiola FC.
In their previous meeting, Ceres FC put in a dominating performance with a 12-0 annihilation of Air Force FC.
Three key players were responsible for a majority of the goals with midfielder Mike Ott scoring four goals within 12 minutes, along with midfielders Bienvenido Marañón and Stephan Schröck each notching a hat trick.
A Ceres win would extend their lead to six points atop the PFL table with Kaya FC-Iloilo currently sitting in second place./WDJ
