San Beda beats Letran

San Beda University scored a 70-66 win over Colegio de San Juan de Letran last Saturday in the 95th NCAA senior men’s basketball season at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
Evan Nelle top-scored for San Beda with 18 points, seven rebounds, and three assists; while Donald Tankoua chipped in 15 markers.
San Beda dominated from beginning behind conversions from Nelle, Tankoua, James Canlas, and Calvin Oftana to establish a 62-51 lead entering the fourth. Their advantage grew to as much as 13 points late in the final period.
Letran made their final push behind Ato Ular and Jerrick Balanza but only got as close as four points.
“My players did a good job,” said San Beda head coach Teodorico Fernandez. “They played very good defense.”/ASC, WDJ
