Marinerong Pilipino Skippers recently scored their second straight win in the 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup with a 91-82 victory over the AMA Online Education Titans at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Jhonard Clarito tallied 19 points, seven rebounds, and six assists; while JR Alabanza earned a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds; Negrense small forward Mark Yee also pulled off a double-double off 11 points and 11 rebounds; and Eliud Poligrates and Roldan Sara each supplied 11 markers.
Marinerong Pilipino went on an 18-4 scoring run bridging the second and third quarters to turn a narrow 40-35 lead into a commanding 58-39 advantage with 7:57 left in the quarter.
AMA Online managed to fight back and narrowed the deficit to 89-80 with under two minutes left in the game. However, Yee shut the door on the Titans as he calmly sank his free throws with 47.2 seconds left to play./ASC, WDJ
