The Hyperwash Vipers and the iWalk Chargers both pulled off wins recently in the 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup. Hyperwash breezed by the Alberei Kings with a 93-62 victory, while iWalk pulled off a 90-76 win over the Hazchem Green Warriors.
Mac Montilla spearheaded the early scoring barrage for Hyperwash, scoring 15 of his total 17 points in the first half, giving the team a 26-11 advantage. They maintained the lead until the end of the game.
Lord Casajeros top-scored for the winning team with 25 points, shooting 11-of-17 field goals; while Khasim Mirza earned a double-double on 23 points and 10 boards.
“Maganda kasi morale boosting para sa akin (The result was great because it is a big morale-booster for me),” said Hyperwash head coach Joel Palapal. “Malaking bagay ito—ngayon, nakabangon kami (This is a big thing—now, we can get back up).”
In the other game, Wowie Escosio uncorked 17 of his total 22 points for iWalk in the second half; while Jasper Parker added 12 points and six boards; JM Cruz tallied a double-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, five steals, and two blocks; and Bernie Bregondo also chipped in 10 points and nine boards./ASC, WDJ
