After Iloilo City Hall was closed yesterday afternoon in order to conduct fogging operations, the city government announced the facility would remain closed until Sunday, August 11. The move was made in response to the ongoing dengue fever situation in the city.
Ahead of the closure, Mayor Jerry P. Treñas advised the public to conduct necessary transactions Friday morning.
According to a recent report from the Iloilo City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, between January 1 and August 3, there are a total of 1,721 dengue-related cases recorded in the city, along with 11 deaths.
The number of cases is a 519 percent increase from last year.
