Two out of the eight suspects in the robbery that recently took place inside Bacolod City’s Gaisano City Mall in the city’s Barangay Singcang-Airport have been identified by police. Police Station 8 (PS8) commander, Police Major Charles Gever, said authorities invited witnesses to the station in order to identify the suspects through their rogues galleries, where they positively identified two of them as Kenneth Bonon and Marlon ‘Ailon’ Parojinog.
Police noted that both suspects have standing arrest warrants, in particular, Parojinog, who was identified as one of the suspects in last month’s robbery of a Metrobank in Binondo, Manila.
In response, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso offered a P1 million reward for Parojinog’s capture, along with the other suspects involved in the Binondo robbery.
The suspect is also said to be the leader of the Parojinog crime group based in Ozamiz City.
Gever said, based on initial findings, Parojinog, Bonon, and six still-unidentified men entered the mall and purchased several hammers and hard objects. The group then targeted jewelry displays inside the mall by smashing them with the said hammers, while another suspect allegedly drew a firearm and fired several shots.
The suspects then boarded a waiting van and several motorcycles at the rear of the mall and made their escape.
The suspects managed to cart away around P4.5 million worth of jewelry.
Police in Negros Occidental have been alerted and are now conducting manhunt operations against the suspects, whom they believe are still in the province./DGB, WDJ
