SM City Bacolod participated in the third quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill yesterday, where a total 528 were evacuated from the shopping complex. Starting at 2:00 p.m., the drill lasted 14 minutes following an evacuation and headcount.
During the drill, the mall activated its emergency response team, where different units carried out their respective functions in response and clearing, setting up command centers, communication, traffic and customer management, rescue, extraction, and treating the injured.
Various local government units, schools, and businesses also took part in the drill with coordination from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police, Red Cross of the Philippines, non-government organizations, among other organizations.
