Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said recommendations to declare a dengue outbreak have already been issued for 10 areas in Negros Occidental. During his weekly press conference with local media, the governor said he is leaving the decision to local government units whether or not to make the declaration.
He added, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) does not want to declare a province-wide outbreak as the number of cases is still not yet “in the level.”
Based on the latest data released by PHO, they have recorded a total of 4,230 dengue-related cases in the province.
