Swine birthing, lab center inaugurated in Cadiz City

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led yesterday’s inauguration of the Swine Artificial Insemination and Laboratory Center at the slaughterhouse compound in Cadiz City’s Barangay Tinampa-an. The facility, which cost P1.045 million seeks to improve the province’s livestock industry.
The center includes a trinocular microscope, sterilizing/drier cabinet, water bath, among other features.
The governor said the facility can also be used as an education center for veterinary students looking to learn about artificial insemination.
Meanwhile, Univet Nutrition and Animal Healthcare Company President Ricardo Alba pledged P300,000 worth of veterinary medicine to the province, along with P100,000 worth of veterinary medicine for Cadiz City.
Also present for the event were Provincial veterinarian, Dr. Renante Decena; Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante, Jr.; Provincial Board Member Samson Mirhan; Cadiz City veterinarian, Dr. Josue Rabang; among others.
