Blackwater Elite rookie Bobby Ray Parks, Jr. is currently the statistical favorite for the Best Player of the Conference award for the 2019 Honda PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Based on the data released by the league, the 2018 second overall draft pick led the league with an average 37.2 statistical points (SPs), wherein a player earns one SP for every point scored, rebound assist, steal, and blocked shot. The Blackwater Elite point guard has earned an average 22.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.4 steals.
Jaymar Perez of the Columbian Dyip is currently second with 35.1 SPs. He leads all locals in scoring with 22.7 points per game, along with completing 7.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.8 steals.
However, with both of their teams missing the semifinals this season, TNT KaTropa’s Jayson Castro, who currently has 35.1 SPs, is also a contender for the award.
Also in the hunt are San Miguel Beermen’s June Mar Fajardo with 33.8 SPs and Castro’s KaTropa teammate Roger Pogoy at 33.2 SPs.
The league is set to name the winner on August 11 during the Game 4 of the best-of-seven finals series between TNT KaTropa and the San Miguel Beermen./ASC, WDJ
