The Department of Labor and Employment-Region VI (DOLE-6) recently turned over sewing equipment to members of the Nueva Valencia chapter of the Integrated Women Alliance of Guimaras-Poblacion.
The department provided P250,000 worth of equipment including sewing machines, an edging machine, tools, and raw materials.
Guimaras lone district Rep. Ma. Lucille L. Nava witnessed the turnover and said, “You are the first batch and are privileged.”
“Always think that this project is one step towards achieving your goals to [becoming] self-reliant and [an] economic contributor to the local community,” she added.
Meanwhile, Eva Emas, who represented Nueva Valencia Mayor Emmanuel Galila, vowed support from the municipal government and assured the local government will assist them in their future needs.
