La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan took to social media yesterday morning and slammed rumors that she lost the election protest filed by former La Castellana Vice Mayor Felix Feria IV and that she was suspended from her post.
In the message posted online, she addressed those who messaged her with the information and told them to go to the La Carlota City Regional Trial Court in order for them to “know the current details of the recount.”
“I am still the mayor of our beloved town,” Nicor-Mangilimutan affirmed.
She also denied rumors of receiving a suspension order and insisted the delivery of basic services will process.
Earlier, the mayor requested the court to dismiss the electoral protest, calling the case “baseless” with an “utter lack of merit.”
She also claimed Feria was on a “fishing expedition” and said he “unconsciously admitted” to having no basis in his claims.
“[Feria] wanted it to be opened first in order to find out whether he has no basis or not,” the mayor insisted.
Nicor-Mangilimutan won reelection after garnering 17,822 votes to 13,987./DGB, WDJ
