Ousted official tells company head to ‘stop drinking’

Roy Yanson, president of Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI), parent company of the Ceres bus liner, yesterday put out a press release calling on his mother, Yanson family matriarch Olivia Yanson, to “stop playing favorites,” claiming such actions are “hurting the feelings” of his children and her grandchildren.
However, he also expressed optimism over the ongoing situation affecting the company, affirming, the dispute “will surely end” soon and, ultimately, his mother and the rest of the Yansons will “come together as a family.”
Despite the family matriarch earlier stating, “I and my late husband, Ricardo, Sr., painstakingly labored so hard to put up our business; to make it successful;” the company president claimed the current state of affairs would not have happened if only his mother had “respected what his father did,” which he explained referred to the apportionment of his estate to his children.
“While it pains us to see our family being wrecked by these controversies, it further hurts us to know that our mother is playing favorites,” Roy Yanson said. “Our mother is already old [and] she must retire already and trust her children with the reins of the company; she must not play favorites—we are not kids anymore.”
“Change is inevitable and our mother must accept that,” he added. “Our father gave us the chance and trusted us; sadly though, our mother never gave us the chance.”
Meanwhile, Leo Rey Yanson, who was earlier ousted as VTI president by his brother, said, “No amount of explanation is enough to one who refuses to understand and falls short of comprehending things coming out of his mouth.”
“Stop telling lies,” he added. “Stop talking like a parrot [and] understand every word that you say.”
The former president also raised suspicions of substance abuse, noting, “People are asking if you are ‘sabog (high)’ the way you answered interviews.”
Leo Rey Yanson then stated, “Mommy is correct when she called on you to also stop drinking.”
“Like what Mommy told you, please focus on your health,” he added./DGB, WDJ
