The TIP Engineers have opened their 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup with an undefeated record, capturing their second win last Monday with a 92-71 victory over Hyperwash Laundromat Vipers at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Papa Ndiaye led the win by tallying a double-double on 28 points and 17 rebounds, while Bryan Santos and Christian Daguro chipped in 19 and 12 markers, respectively.
Holding to a 51-44 lead at the half, the Engineers slowly created distance in the third period before pulling away for good in the final quarter with a 16-3 start en route to a huge 89-62 advantage.
“The chemistry and the spirit of the team is there,” said TIP head coach Potit De Vera. “We’re willing to play for each other.”
In the other game, the Hazchem Green Warriors scored a 98-78 win over the Nail Talk & Beauty Spa-St. Dominic Savio Unicorns.
