Bacolod City native Allan Vallespin is set to defend his Philippine Games and Amusements Board super featherweight belt this weekend, August 3, when he battles Glenn Enterina at the Elorde Sports Complex in Parañaque City. This fight will be his third time defending the title. His last title defense came via unanimous decision against Warren Mambuanag last December 2016.
The bout is also a chance for Vallespin to snap a losing streak after back-to-back losses to Japanese fighters. He earlier lost to Musashi Mori in July 2018 and later to Yoshimitsu Kimura last February.
Meanwhile, like Vallespin, Enterina is also looking to get back into winning form after failing to clinch the International Boxing Federation youth lightweight championship against Australian fighter Jacob Ng last March.
The 25-year-old Vallespin will be entering the fight with a 12-4-0 win-loss-draw record, including nine stoppage victories./ASC, WDJ
