President Rodrigo Duterte’s recent announcement suspending Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) gambling activities surprised millions. While there have been varied opinions on the move, some say the president noticed only a few were benefiting from the systems—operators who were enjoying the sacrifices of those looking to try their luck.
While some workers will be displaced, Duterte is looking at the situation from a broader perspective and his actions will see more become “sacrificial lambs.” While he evaluates, the public awaits his next step.
Some believe the president has a speech prepared but what is considered frightening (even threatening) are his unscripted statements that come as his brain operates. One should be ready for anything.

Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko’ Moreno Domagoso is a model for mayors across the country. While what he is doing are basic things any local official should be doing, there are very few who even perform suck tasks.
Aside from Moreno Domagoso, among officials considered to be “truly performing” include Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares III, Silay City Mayor Mark Golez, and Bago City Mayor Nicholas Yulo.
