Danny Villafuerte of Hinobaan, Negros Occidental remained unbeaten after his technical knockout win over Christian Capuno last week in the “ALA on Tour: Bakbakan sa Passi” event at the City of Passi Arena.
The referee was compelled to stop the fight in the fifth round after the Negrense fighter pummeled his opponent with combinations.
With the victory, Villafuerte improved his record to 3-0-0, all via stoppages; while the loss marked Capuno’s first defeat, dropping to a 2-1-0 win-loss-draw record.
Meanwhile, the Mabinay-native Romnick Magos continued his slump as he suffered a fourth round technical knockout defeat to Filipino-Japanese fighter Go Hosaka.
It was the fifth consecutive defeat, falling to a 12-10-0 record, with seven stoppage wins. Meanwhile, Hosaka maintained an undefeated 3-0-0 record, with two KO wins./ASC, WDJ
