The Bacolod Master Sardines continued to struggle in the ongoing Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League after losing 87-68 over the weekend to Pasig Sta. Lucia Realtors at the Pasig City Sports Complex.
After the first 10 minutes, the Bacolodnons were initially down 23-21; however, by the second period, that deficit grew to 27-18. Pasig then managed to push to a 50-39 lead at halftime.
In the second half, the Pasig City-based squad grew their lead to as much as 24 points.
Robbie Manalang top-scored for Pasig with 20 points, including four three-point conversions; while former PBA players Jeric Teng and Josan Nimes each added 16.
Meanwhile, John Paul Cauilan finished with 14 points for Bacolod, Nico Paolo Javelona and Lloyd Castor each scored 13, Jopher Custodio – 11, and Mark Tallo – 10./ASC, WDJ
