The first Sipalay City Skim and Surf Fest kicked off earlier this week along Poblacion Beach and is expected to run until Saturday. The event seeks to attract both surfers and enthusiasts of skimboard, which is smaller than a typical surfboard, without fins, and is intended for gliding across the water.
A surfing and skimboarding clinic was held yesterday, along with a tournament and exhibition.
The winners of the beginner and expert competitions will be revealed today, July 27.
A coastal clean-up is also scheduled to take place on the last day of the event.
The event was organized by the Sipalay City Tourism Office, Locals Skim Boarder, and Panaon Surfcamp./WDJ
