Mendiola FC opened strong in their 2019 Philippines Football League match against Green Archers United last Wednesday, winning 5-2 at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite. Striker Ashley Flores led the victory with a hat trick.
The win was their second of the season following their earlier 3-1 victory over Philippine Air Force FC.
The match opened with Flores securing a brace fairly quickly, scoring first in the seventh minute then again in the 15th.
Defender Souleyman Mbouombouo Ndepe made it 3-0 in the 36th minute and, just before the end of the first half, striker Mar Diano made it 4-0.
Flores than completed his hat trick in the 53rd minute.
However, Mendiola FC would not be able to keep a clean sheet as Green Archers midfielder Paolo Bugas and defender Fredy Mbang scored in the closing minutes of the second half./ASC, WDJ
