Asia’s Lashes Soldiers eked out a 106-105 win over the AMA Online Education Titans in yesterday’s 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup opener at the Paco Arena in Manila.
Despite leading by 13 points in the final period, Asia’s Lashes soon found themselves down 103-102 before free throws by James Martinez salvaged the win.
Martinez finished with 13 points, five assists, and three rebounds; while Adrian Celada contributed 26 points built on eight three-pointers; Francis Camacho had 13 points; Levi Dela Cruz supplied 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals; and Jeson Delfinado chipped in 10 markers.
“Opening game kasi kaya medyo na-tense (There was some tension since it was the opening game),” said Soldiers head coach Alvin Grey. “Buti na lang naka-recover (Good thing we recovered).”/ASC, WDJ
