Sipalay City officials recently gathered for a climate disaster risk assessment workshop, which contributed to the process of updating the city’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan and Comprehensive Development Plan.
Mayor Gina Lizares called the updates a “priority,” noting, “Think of a long-term vision for Sipalay City.”
The workshop itself focused on hazard, vulnerability, and capacity maps associated with the said plans.
Among the topics covered during the event included climate change; along with evaluating the city’s level of vulnerability; degree of impact, in terms of potential disaster; and adaptive capacity./WDJ
