Philippines retains boys’ basketball title

The Philippines successfully retained the 2019 ASEAN School Games boys’ basketball title last Tuesday at the GOR Sahabat in Semarang, Indonesia. They captured this year’s tournament with a 100-51 win over host country Indonesia.
Terrence Fortea led the Philippines with 32 points and was 11-of-18 shooting, while Ilonggo point guard Gerry Abadiano scored three triples to finish with 11 markers.
In other events, the Philippines won gold in the girls’ basketball tournament while the boys’ volleyball team secured a bronze.
