The Negros Occidental provincial government is currently conducting evaluations for over 700 casual workers assigned to provincial hospitals across the province. According to provincial hospital operations head, Dr. Leonardo Eusebio, “They are being evaluated based on their performance.”
He pointed out, until contracts are formally renewed, many casual workers are currently conducting “volunteer work.” However, the provincial official noted, “There are already some who have been renewed and are working.”
Meanwhile, Eusebio said personnel volume is incumbent on bed capacity.
He said, with hospitals currently operating at an average 180 percent capacity, it is indicative of a lack of personnel.
“Right now, hospitals have 200 permanent and casual doctors,” the health official added. “This is not enough to deliver medical services to the people.”/DGB, WDJ
