68 tons of waste collected in Iloilo City clean-up

A clean-up over the weekend in Iloilo City accumulated a total of 68 tons of waste.
The Iloilo City General Services Office (GSO) said, of the total waste collected, 2,310 kilograms was comprised of recyclable materials.
Assistant GSO department head, Engr. Neil Ravena, reminded local residents to observe proper drop-off time for garbage collection.
Earlier this month, in response to the Iloilo City Health (CHO) reporting six dengue-related deaths in the city between January and July 10 of this year, Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas issued an executive order for all government offices and city barangays to conduct clean-up drives in their respective jurisdictions.
According to CHO data, there have been a total of 619 dengue-related cases reported in the city, with the Jaro district recording the most with 168./WDJ
