After securing the 2019 William Jones Cup with a 97-74 victory over the Chinese Taipei-A, Mighty Sports-Philippines closed the tournament undefeated last Sunday with their 81-71 win over Chinese Taipei-B at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Eugene Phelps top-scored for the Philippines with 24 points, while McKenzie Moore contributed 16, and Joseph Yeo added 11.
The Philippines was uncharacteristically faced with a tight game, clinging to a 59-55 edge after the first three quarters. However, in the final quarter, inside conversions from Phelps and Moore gave the Philippines its biggest lead of 77-67 after a drive by Fil-Am guard Jason Brickman./ASC, WDJ
