Iloilo pipped by GenSan in the Maharlika League

The Iloilo United Royals were pipped by the GenSan Warriors, 69-64, over the weekend in the ongoing Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
GenSan got to work in the opening period and surged to a 22-17 lead but Iloilo fought back in the second period and forced a 39-all tie at the half.
In the third, GenSan outscored Iloilo, 17-10, and took a 56-49 edge. Iloilo then rallied back in the fourth but only got as close as five points.
Cadiz City-native Robby Celiz spearheaded the attack for GenSan with 15 points and 15 rebounds, while John Orbeta added 13 points, and Meylan Landicho scored 10 markers./ASC, WDJ
