In light of the news regarding two Pototan Municipal Police Station officers who were caught drinking on duty and threatening to kill their commanding officer, Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Director, Police Colonel Henry Biñas, reminded the city’s police personnel that drinking while on duty is prohibited.
In a radio interview over the weekend, Biñas said it is a “mortal sin” for police officer to drink alcoholic beverages and challenge their higher-ups.
The BCPO chief said criminal and administrative cases await those caught violating the order.
Following the incident in Pototan, Biñas said they have taken the initiative and affirmed, anyone assigned as ‘Officer of the Day,’ especially during the night and early morning, is required to conduct rounds at the various police stations in the city to ensure personnel are not drinking or sleeping while on duty./DGB, WDJ
